Blog Assignment 9

a communication circle between students and teachers
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED

I think it is very important to be flexible with our lesson plans, for the most obvious reason, we are working with children.  Another important aspect is to remember who our audience is, because it is very important that the students understand and they communicate back to us what the lesson was about.  Also communication is very important aspect in every job.  You must be able to communicate clearly and effectively to other employees as well as the children.   I think his most important value he talked about was keeping the children's goals attainable.  Everyone likes to feel as though they have accomplished something so great, especially children, that is why we must have goals for our students, but they have to be attainable for the students.  I also think it is critical that we listen to our children and try to help them in any way that we can, like his student said, he knew his teacher cared, because he listened.

  1. Tabitha, I think you make some great points in you blog post. We must be flexible and mindful of how we communicate with each individual child because each child is different. It is our job as teachers to mold our teaching styles to the benefit of each student. We need to respect that each child is unique and learns in a different way than others. I also like that he made the point that we must always keep our ears attentive to whatever our students say. If we do this, they will know that we care. Thanks for letting me read your blog!

  2. "it is very important that the students understand and they communicate back to us what the lesson was about." How will you ask your students to communicate back to you what the lesson is about?
